The Beechworth Cyclocross Mud Wars are rounds 6 and 7 as part of the AusCycling Victorian CX Series.
Cyclocross racing consists of many laps of a 2.5–3.5 kilometres course featuring pavement, wooded trails, grass, steep hills and obstacles requiring the rider to quickly dismount and carry the bike while navigating the obstruction and remount. Races are generally between 30 minutes to one hour long.
