Concert or Performance

5 Feb 2020 to 9 Feb 2020

Welcome to the inaugural Bendigo Chamber Music Festival. This new festival will bring world class chamber musicians from around the world and Australia to Bendigo for 14 concerts between February 5 and 9 in 2020.

The musicians of the Chamber Orchestra of Europe are the artists in residence at the festival. A real coup for the festival and Australia. Much loved Australian musicians such as Stefan, Daniel de borah, Sophie Rowell and Andrew Goodwin will also be taking part. The event is showcasing some series young talent with ANAM alumni Lily Higson- Spence and the Australian Youth Orchestra giving recitals.

Extraordinary masterworks will be presented throughout the program such as Mozart’s Clarinet Quintet, Beethoven’s Second Symphony, and Schubert’s “Trout” piano quintet. They will stand alongside some remarkable lesser known gems and works that showcase the dynamic and benchmark COE interpretative style, honed over decades of collaboration with artists such as Abbado, Harnoncourt, Sandor Vegh, Haitink and Andras Schiff.
