If you are looking for a great day of fun and entertainment for the whole family on Australia Day, then look no further than Broadford.
The Broadford Australia Day Festival celebrates what it means to be Australian, with a range of special attractions, activities and displays. It also includes Kids Korner, Food Court, Tug-o-War Challenge and live music from Van-Yt, all on the shady lawns of the Island Reserve in High Street Broadford – just bring your chairs and your picnic rug.
The Broadford Historic Precinct will be open, with expert information, tours and a special display and photographs of the Broadford Paper Mill. Young adults and students will find lots to do at the ‘Hangout’ at the Broadford Skate Park – the main attractions being free skateboard coaching and live music from Katlyn Sullivan.
The day kicks off at 7:30 am with the traditional Lion’s Club Community Brekkie at Lions Park. At 10:00 am there will be an official Flag Raising Ceremony, featuring our local Australia Day Ambassador. After exploring the market displays, the food available and all of the entertainment, the Festival finishes at around 3:00 pm.
