Chiltern: the town that sparked the Kelly outbreak is a commemoration of the rise of the Kelly Gang which will be held around the Star Theatre on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 April 2019.

The weekend event will include a Saturday night dinner at the Vine Hotel complete with bush band and an impressive Kelly display at the Athenaeum.

The town of Chiltern played a major role in the Kelly story as it was there that Dan Kelly’s arrest warrant was issued. Speakers covering the Kelly outbreak include:

Brad Webb – Author of Ned Kelly: the iron outlaw, Noelene Allen – Author of Ellen: a women of spirit, Paul O’Keefe – Steve Harts great great nephew, Alan Crighton – Author of Far Beyond the Falls, Noeleen Lloyd – Great Heritage Group and Kelly researcher Steve Jager discussing Ned’s republic.
