Day 4 – Four Calling Birds

Community Event

6 Dec 2019 to 1 Jan 2020

When Deborah Lee Klein was living overseas, one thing she really missed about Australia was the cacophony of fantastic birdcalls that make our place so distinct. This piece is an homage to four of her favourites. Day Four can be seen in at Shop 16, Mining Exchange Lydiard Street Nth.

Deborah Lee Klein creates figurative dimensional illustrations using acid-free art papers that have been embossed, cut and shaped. The rest is light and shade.

The 12 days of Christmas Windows will surprise and delight. The collection of temporary artworks is inspired by the Twelve Days of Christmas and will be a nod to local traditions, with an emphasis on the regional city, Ballarat’s heritage, First Nations peoples and our shared future. The City of Ballarat has commissioned six local artists to create the 12 Christmas Windows to fill our shops and streetscape with Christmas joy and creativity.

Follow the trail of 12 Christmas windows, starting with the Partridge in a Pear Tree at Central Square and continue down through the streets to 12 Drummers Drumming in the Bridge Mall.
