Day 7 – Seven Swans A Swimming

Community Event

6 Dec 2019 to 1 Jan 2020

Margie Balazic and her 14-year-old son Kobie have created their interpretation of Day Seven, inspired by Lake Wendouree and its stunning black swans.

The manmade lake holds significant historical, environmental and recreational values to the Ballarat community. The lake hosted the rowing and canoeing events during the 1956 Olympic Games, this theme inspired creativity.

Standing tall within the display is the Rotary Club of Ballarat’s monument that commemorated the rowing and canoeing events of the 16th Olympiad on Lake Wendouree in 1956. The window visual will display elements of Ballarat’s beautiful lake with our very unique Christmas artistic twist.

The 12 days of Christmas Windows will surprise and delight. The collection of temporary artworks is inspired by the Twelve Days of Christmas and will be a nod to local traditions, with an emphasis on the regional city, Ballarat’s heritage, First Nations peoples and our shared future.

Follow the trail of 12 Christmas windows, starting with the Partridge in a Pear Tree at Central Square and continue down through the streets to 12 Drummers Drumming in the Bridge Mall.
