Wish You Were Here is regarded by many as one of seminal rock act Pink Floyd’s greatest albums.
Precisely 45 years since its release, Australia’s largest scale Pink Floyd tribute, Echoes Of Pink Floyd, will perform two exclusive and intimate performances live at the Chapel (Chapel on Chapel).
Audiences will be treated to an in-depth exploration of this iconic album, plus a dynamic and authentic celebration of Pink Floyd’s greatest and most popular songs.
Performing in a church wasn’t uncharted territory for the original Pink Floyd. In 1971 they ventured to Royaumont Abbey in France and gave a unique and memorable performance of “Cymbaline.” The haunting echoes and natural reverberations emanating through the cathedral enhanced and gave life to the very essence of the psychedelic music the band were then famous for.
On 12 September 1975 the English rockers released their ninth studio album, “Wish You Were Here”. It was an instant success and topped the charts in the UK, US and Australia. The album reflected the band’s disenchantment with the machinations of the music business, and explored themes of absence and alienation.
