19 May 2018 to 27 May 2018
Fish Creek is set to host its fourth Tea Cosy Festival, showcasing this small South Gippsland town as a vibrant and creative community.
The tea cosy is a metaphor for a strong, creative, connected community. It keeps everything warm, ready for when anyone should want another cup.
The 2018 festival theme is inTEAnational and will highlight the many cultures where the making and taking of tea are symbols of hospitality.
The focus of the festival is the now iconic Tea Cosy Competition which engages people of all ages to showcase their creativity. Competition entries will be displayed at the Tea Cosy Exhibition, open daily during the festival.
An extensive program of events is planned including an art installation from the Latvian community, a high tea featuring European music, an inTEAnational Day luncheon, Devonshire teas, demonstrations and workshops on the making of tea cosies, the Bendigo Bank Market Day including free music and entertainment, and a closing night dinner featuring Indigenous Australian Bruce Pascoe as guest speaker.
Fish Creek welcomes everyone to join in the creativity, uniqueness and joy of the Tea Cosy Festival.
