Here Come the Blues – Melbourne International Comedy Festival

Concert or Performance

26 Mar 2019 to 7 Apr 2019

Twenty-three years ago, the Carlton Blues won the AFL Grand Final. It was the best day of Carol’s life. Since that day, however, Carol has endured a steady stream of heartaches, watching her once-proud club crumble into mediocrity. With nothing left to lose, Carol has made it her mission to end Carlton’s drought and get the boys to the finals. She will stop at nothing as she faces the greatest challenge in modern football history, making the blues good again.

Here Come the Blues is an eclectic sketch show for footy fans and comedy fans alike. Following the journey of Carlton-tragic Carol, we meet old and new favourites of the game from Anthony Koutoufides to that foul-mouthed old lady in the crowd, and everyone in between. Whether you’re a die-hard tragic like Carol or a band-wagon Doggies fan from 2016, you will find plenty to laugh at in this delightful take on Australia’s favourite game.

Fiannah de Rue is an actor, comedian and improviser who made her solo comedy debut in 2018 with It’s Not Funny at Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Melbourne Fringe.
