Jazzlab Orcheztra Live at The Jazzlab Brunswick

Concert or Performance

2 Jul 2019

Melbourne’s own Jazzlab Orchestra presses re-set on the big band tradition: creating visionary, original, genre-bending jazz music with a focus on diversity and inclusivity. Led by composer/arrangers Cheryl Durongpisitkul and Madison James Smith, the orchestra celebrates Melbourne’s next generation of instrumentalists.

The Orchestra continues the tradition of the Bennetts Lane Big Band with a monthly residency. With a focus on all original repertoire by Durongpisitkul and Smith as well as band members such as Nat Bartsch, Hannah Mckittrick, Scott Van Gemert, Shaun Rammers, Brae Grimes, Josh Bennier and Ellie Lamb, this exciting new ensemble is not to be missed.

Hannah Mckittrick – vocals, Cheryl Durongpisitkul – saxophone, Flora Carbo – saxophone, Gideon Brazil – saxophone, Shaun Rammers – saxophone, Liam Werrett – saxophone, Brae Grimes – trumpet, Madison Foley – trumpet, Bede Ford-Gaddes – trumpet, Charlie Woods – trumpet, Josh Bennnier – trombone, Lisa Baird – trombone, Ellie Lamb – trombone, Scott Van Gemert – trombone, Rowan Pattison – guitar, Nat Bartsch – piano, Madison James Smith – bass and Alexandra Roper – drums.
