Kathleen Halloran Trio and Alex Rindfleish Quintet at The Jazzlab

Concert or Performance

12 Mar 2019

Young guitarist Kathleen Halloran has put together an eclectic jazz trio driven by a fun – yet fierce – approach to improvised music. Featuring the melodically rich guitar stylings of Kathleen Halloran, these are complemented by the highly experienced team of the exceptionally versatile and inspiring Darryn Farrugia on drums, and bassist Kim May’s supportive and interactive work in the lower registers. With influences ranging from Pat Metheny to Brad Mehldau Trio and Maceo Parker, their sonic palate is a broad one, but always accessible nonetheless.

Alex Rindfleish is a composer pianist based in Melbourne. Accompanied by some of Melbourne’s finest young musicians the quintet draws on influences from Alex’s love for Australian contemporary jazz and cinematic music. Featuring Hector Harley (tenor saxophone), Bede Ford-Gaddes (trumpet), Ross Anderson (double bass), and Lewis Pierre Humbert (drums).
