Mervyn Beamish is a Victorian artist from Benalla who graduated from National Art School in 970.

Mervyn runs workshops in art and writing, is a published author and occasional resident artist. In recent years he has participated in solo and group exhibitions in New York, Germany, Poland and Australia. His works are in both local and international private collections including UK, United States, Germany, Egypt, Poland and Malta.

During a 30 plus years as a freelance writer he wrote, but never completed a novel “Kutther’s Cell”. This exhibition explores atmosphere, emotions and locations from this narrative. Until recently spent at least twelve weeks a year traveling down the outback roads capturing the fleeting moments, memories and illusions.

Resides in Benalla, Victoria, where he exhibits and has a working studio with North East Artisans (NEA).
