28 Jul 2018 to 29 Jul 2018
Taking place in the rolling green hills of Alexandra, the Murrindindi Beanie Festival is on again on 28 and 29 July. The festival is an easy scenic one and half hours drive north east from Melbourne via either Yea or Healesville.
Doors open from 10:00am to 4:00pm. The fibre festival promises to provide fun and frivolity as beanies of all shapes and sizes are donated, displayed and available to purchase throughout the event.
This year’s theme for the Murrindindi Madness category is Mountain Streams to Ocean Floor, and the return of favorite categories include Funky Fibre Fusion, Traditional Beanie, Anything Goes Beanie, Winter Warmers and Best Teapot Beanie. While the Most Down to Earth Beanie is a sculptural wonder that can be made from anything.
Saturday 28 July features the Beanie Bazzaar, a market full of clever creations featuring yarn, craft and refreshments, so there is something for everyone.
For further category details, conditions of entry and entry forms should you wish to enter a beanie, look for the Murrindindi Beanie Festival brochure or visit their Facebook page. Proceeds from the sale of the fabulous beanies go towards local charities to help people within the community of Murrindindi.
