See 29 steam locomotives on display over two sites.

Steamrail Victoria’s A2 986, D3 639, K153, K183, K190, R711, R761 and Y112 all in steam. – See them operate up close, view the cab, blow the whistle and meet the volunteer crew.

K183 – Newly restored after a 19-year hiatus, joining in for its first-ever Open Days.

132 year old Y112 – Currently Australia’s oldest operating mainline locomotive – on loan from Sovereign Hill and operational in steam.

18 Steam locomotives statically preserved at the Newport Railway Museum.

Plus the preserved electric ‘Red Rattler’ Tait Set; Heritage Diesel and Electric locomotives; Silver Hitachi electric train on display at the Newport Railway Museum.

Over a 100-year-old carriages open for public inspection.

Other displays include Guided Tours of the 134 year old railway workshops. See how the only remaining operational Steam Locomotive Weighbridge in Australia works.

Displays showcasing the workshops’ rich railway and wartime history. Enjoy a game of ‘Trugo’ under the clocktower, the 1920s sport invented at the workshops.

Vintage cars and steam-powered machinery, Railway Models and Historical Displays. Displays from local history groups – HMAS Castlemaine and Williamstown Historical Society.

1940s Club Car ‘Moorabool’ serving light snacks and refreshments.
