Pleasure Garden

Community Event

16 Mar 2019 to 7 Apr 2019

A listening garden and gently interactive sound installation, Pleasure Garden invites you into music and natural architecture – to play, to stroll, or to relax with friends and strangers.

Responding to your movement, different layers of the composition are triggered by your presence and move subtly across the space as you explore it – or sit a while and listen.

Inspired by the story and music of the 17th-century musician, composer, improviser and nobleman Jacob van Eyck, Pleasure Garden combines excerpts from his work set within newly
composed music by Genevieve Lacey and Jan Bang.

Throughout the season, world-renowned virtuoso recorder player and Pleasure Garden creator, Genevieve Lacey will perform concerts in Tecoma Pavilion.

The Sound Installation is open Saturday 16 March to Sunday 7 April from 7:30am to sunset at the Water Conservation Garden – entry via Gate C. Suitable for all ages.

Performance and Q and A on Sunday 31 March and Sunday 7 April at 3:00pm. Tickets are $20 per person and bookings are essential. Tecoma Pavilion, entry via Gate C. Suitable for ages 10 and over.
