George Poulakis is a multi-award-winning visual artist whose self-portraiture examines the duality of identity; the façade that we present to the world, and the selves that we inhabit when we are alone. This series explores the dichotomy of darkness and light, and the spectrum in between.
Outside of his art practice George teaches photography and filmmaking at the Centre for Adult Education.
Sophie Reid is a photographic artist who has translated her love of night into a metaphor exploring ideas and feelings around her possible futures. Night is a mysterious land that can seduce or surprise and because it is unknown, it is imbued equally with magic and dread.
Sophie recently won the Huon Art Exhibitions Group Photographic prize in Tasmania for her image Toward Elsewhere.
The exhibition will run from April 24 to May 26 at the Red Earth Gallery, Mooroolbark Community Centre.
