8 Apr 2021 to 11 Apr 2021 Annual Event
Corryong’s Man From Snowy River Bush Festival is proudly keeping the unique tradition of the bush heritage alive and well. The Festival brings people together to celebrate traditional Australian bush heritage in a beautiful, largely untouched landscape visited by Banjo – the mountain ranges just as spectacular, the valleys as beautiful and the fast-running rivers as dramatic.
Thursday 8 to Sunday 11 April 2021 Corryong comes alive with over 40 events to showcase everything unique about our Australian bush culture. Flagship events include the MFSR Challenge (a three-day horsemanship event); Riley’s Ride (a 5-day ride through remote and spectacular trails following the historic footsteps of Jack Riley); MFSR Rodeo and the live MFSR Re-enactment of the famous poem “Man from Snowy River” bringing the breathtaking action and emotive rendition of the poem so close that spectators feel the pounding of hooves through the soles of their feet.
Other feature events include bush poetry, art and photography, street parade, bush markets, trade stalls, Working Cattle Cog Championships, Equine Education Arena to name a few.
A great time to pack your caravan/tent/swag, grab your mates and head to Corryong. Come celebrate the proud history and connection to the Man from Snowy River, sense of community, the “have a go” and “won’t say die” attitude, the undaunted spirit and mateship.
