The Outer Wombat Gravel Grind

After a year off, they are excited to be back riding at Wombat State Forest. A 60 minute drive from Melbourne, this is an absolute riding Mecca, just next to the town of Woodend.

This is a doubleheader weekend, with gravel racing (or riding) Saturday and the Wombat Classic Shifty Fifty on Sunday.

From this day’s riding, you can expect premium gravel roads, fast and smooth descents, and of course some big smiles.

This route comprises of well-maintained fire trails, gentle gravel and quality gravel. Expect some scrubby bush and fast-rolling flats across the day.

On course, there will be a feed and water station set up at the halfway point, but make sure you come loaded with a few bottles, food and of course spare tubes!
