In 12 short months the Rotary Club of Wangaratta’s Book Fair has grown from raising $15,000 for community projects to raising over an estimated $30,000 in 2018.
A hardworking committee and volunteers have more than doubled the stock of good quality children’s books, unique special interest books, fiction and non fiction books. Additionally through a five year strategic business plan, the Rotary Club of Wangaratta have established the new Wang Lit Fest which has extended the Wangaratta Rotary Book Fair to now include:
A Young Writers Award; ‘Once upon a story’ workshops from local arts specialist Jacquie Coupe; The GANEAA EncyclopediART Exhibition; The CWA Retro Café and a Visiting Writers Program which includes writing workshops, author talks and panel siscussions.
This ambitious project still focuses on the key message – from the community, to the community.
Entry and festival bag $2. No books over $5 plus all you can fit in your Rotary bag for $50.
The Wang Lit Fest and Book Fair will be held over the Queen’s Birthday weekend, Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 June 2018 at St Patricks Hall, Wangaratta.
