Festivals and Celebrations

10 Jun 2022 to 13 Jun 2022 Annual Event

The Woodend Winter Arts Festival is an annual celebration, showcasing the very best of classical music from Australia and internationally. There is a lively literary and visual arts program over the Queen’s Birthday long weekend.

The event takes place throughout various venues in the charming village of Woodend in the Macedon Ranges, an easy 45-minute drive from central Melbourne.

The 2022 event will kick off with a free fireworks display featuring live entertainment and food vans.

Other highlights include:
– Two incredible concerts by world-renowned ensembles – Ensemble Gombert and the Australian Romantic Classic Orchestra.
– A fascinating discussion with best-selling author Sarah Krasnostein.
– The screening of ‘A little bit Mongolian’ a film by award winning documentary film maker Michael Dillon.

A scaled-back version of the event is taking place in 2022 due to the Festival’s main hub currently undergoing major restoration works, and in light of the continued challenges faced by the evolving Covid situation. Plans are in place to return the festival to full capacity in 2023.
