Afghan Marcopolo Restaurant
Food and Drink Mornington, Mornington Peninsula, Victoria
36 years ago, a family who moved with their four children from Afghanistan to Australia – Mr. & Mrs. Shakoor decided to share their legacy and amazing cooking with the local Afghan community at social gatherings.
It didn’t take long until the Afghan Marcopolo Restaurant was found, 11 years later, in Frankston, after locals started loving the Afghan food that they have been serving for over three years at the Mornington Australia Day festivals. People could now enjoy a lovely Afghan place that offered delicious traditional dishes, charming decor and a glimpse of the Afghan culture.
This small family business had suddenly become a beloved Mornington restaurant, situated on Main Street Mornington, in 2000, grown out of the love for aromatic food, all topped with a bit of the Afghan flavour of life. Within the first week, the restaurant became a success and very soon, they became one of the most beloved eateries in town
Afghan Marcopolo Restaurant can seat 85, extended to a full capacity of 110 for special functions.
They have a licensed bar with local wines, beers, and spirits. They offer their menus with the same care whether it’s table service, or takeaway, ready to be enjoyed by the famous Mornington foreshore, only a glimpse away from the restaurant.
