Nestled under a chic black awning on Queen Street in the heart of Bendigo’s bustling CBD awaits Masons of Bendigo – a modern, sophisticated restaurant and Bendigo’s only The Age Good Food Guide hatted venue and 2016 Gold winners in the Victorian and National Tourism Awards ‘Restaurant and Catering’ category.
First opened on 26 March 2012, in a short time, owners, husband and wife chef team, Nick and Sonia Anthony have carved out a unique place in Bendigo’s increasingly vibrant culinary scene. Serving lunch and dinner Tuesday to Saturday, food is presented in a share style, allowing the diner the opportunity to enjoy a variety of flavours. Nick and Sonia draw on over 40 collective years of experience in top restaurants around the globe, including Bendigo, Melbourne, London and Singapore.
Masons prides itself on sourcing quality ingredients from passionate, local producers and farmers and then making best, sympathetic, use of these ingredients. But they go beyond; they want to tell the stories behind the products – the who, what, how and where. They encourage diners to embrace and understand the excellence of these products and support these local producers and explore the region.
