The Y Water Discovery Centre incorporates a fully accredited Visitor Information Centre and interactive environmental interpretive displays to inform visitors about the importance of water resources and wetland ecology.
Located adjacent to the Yea Wetlands the Centre is a striking, architecturally designed building incorporating sustainable design elements.
The friendly Visitor Services team can provide information on a wide range of activities, points of interest, accommodation and dining options, and travel directions.
The Centre features a gift shop stocking a range of products including books, maps, jewellery and local produce.
The Yea Wetlands Kiosk offers great coffee, ice cream, sweet treats and an evolving menu of light snacks. The Kiosk is open Friday to Monday.
Guided tours of the Wetlands which include a Devonshire tea are available as well as school holiday activity programs and sessions for school groups.
Outside the Centre is the impressive indigenous garden Badji Baanang. The plants found in the garden are representative of plants found across Taungurung Country and the garden also incorporates information about indigenous plants and the species that depend on these plants for survival.
Also onsite is a purpose-built picnic area with barbecue facilities, ample on-site parking and a recreational vehicle dump point.
