Tigerair Australia commenced operations in Australia in November 2007 and since February 2015 has been a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Virgin Australia Group. The low cost carrier operates to 24 domestic destinations in Australia with a fleet of 14 Airbus A320 aircraft and three Boeing 737 aircraft.
Tigerair Australia has flown nearly 26 million passengers since operations commenced in November 2007. The airline has three bases in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane (Australia).

In calendar years 2015 and 2016, Tigerair Australia achieved significantly enhanced on time performance as the most punctual low cost carrier in Australia. Tigerair Australia also achieved the lowest cancellation rate of every major domestic airline in 2015 and 2016, while customer satisfaction service levels are at near record levels.
