Where To Stay Dowerin, Dowerin, Western Australia
Dowerin is a one stop shop for visitors and is only a 2 hour scenic drive from the city along the Pioneers Pathway. Set in the heart of the Wheatbelt, Dowerin lies 156 kilometres north east of Perth.
Dowerin Short Stay Accommodation and Caravan Park offers a fabulous range of accommodation to suit all needs and budgets and includes caravan and camping sites, studio apartments and unit apartments.
Upon arrival in the town, you will be greeted by Rusty, the tin dog, who stands guard at the western entrance to the town and proudly represents the spirit and ingenuity of the small rural community.
Rusty the tin dog was born in 2004 when the children from Dowerin District High School developed a project initiative to encourage people to stop in Dowerin. The students helped with Rusty’s initial design, sourced funding for the materials and employed an artist to build him. The students were inspired by the legend of his home, the Tin Dog Creek, which originally got its name during settlement in the area and the commencement of mining in the Yilgarn Goldfields.
