Ford House is set in exquisite gardens in Bridgetown. Less than three hours from Perth, yet in the centre of the South West, close to Margaret River, Augusta, Pemberton and Walpole. Rolling hills cloaked in forest, wineries, vineyards, orchard and paddocks make a perfect backdrop for historic Ford House, built in 1896.

Ford House offers guests luxurious accommodation and many facilities; the five acre garden with its 600 metre Blackwood River frontage is on the edge of town yet surrounded by dense forest. Guests at historic Ford House enjoy large rooms; French doors onto the terrace and high ceilings at an affordable price. There are single, twin and queen size rooms. The Grand Ballroom has an antique king sized four poster bed and a fire in the room, as well as Foxtel, DVD player and en suite. Every room is different.

To finish the stay, home baked bread, preserves, jams, roasted almonds, honey cured bacon and eggs all add to the morning delights of breakfast at Ford House.

Block out curtains and blinds can make the room dark. The carved bed head is antique, carved with roses and flowers and made from French oak, circa 1910.

The Spa suite has all the luxuries with reverse cycle air-conditioning, flat screen television, DVD player as well as a kitchenette with toaster, and microwave. The spa is a deep two person spa with mood lighting, heated towel rails, hair dryer and big fluffy towels. The toilet is separate and adjoins the bathroom.

The price includes a gourmet breakfast.

A luxurious accommodation that overlooks the massive karri trees and more formal deciduous garden makes the perfect getaway. A queen size bed with original Amish quilts is featured with an elegant table and chairs complementing the she oak flooring.

The television adds to the little luxuries in the room, together with the original artwork. A proper single bed adds to the opportunities so that the room can be used as either a twin or a double.

Fluffy towelling robes, towels and a heated towelling rail all add to the relaxing atmosphere in the large en suite bathroom.

The lounge has folding doors that open out onto a terrace overlooking the Blackwood River only 30 metres away.

Television

A beautiful room with a Moroccan feel. The room has a single bed, all plumped up with a damask feather down quilt.

The room is decorated with unique original artworks and fresh flowers. The walls, from floor to ceiling (four metres high) are packed with books. Two large sash windows look out onto the historic garden, with its azaleas, bluebells, Jacarandas and camellias. Its furniture is predominantly English oak.

The lounge has a stereo system, and an open fireplace, as does the dining room, (where tea and coffee is available). The whole house is a grand design with a wooden veranda all round and the house is perched overlooking the Blackwood River.

An enormous, gracious room in Historic Ford House, built in 1896. The room, with its two sets of French doors, bay window and wide jarrah floor boards used to be the ballroom for Bridgetown in the 1920’s.

Victorian “swag and tail” drapes grace the windows. An extra large brass, four poster bed, built in 1862 is featured in the room, with its handmade, granny’s flower garden quilt. The room still has all the modern luxuries of television, DVD, video and stereo, as well as Foxtel television.

The room also has a luxurious en suite and deep, comfortable overstuffed chairs, fresh flowers, original artworks, a tapestry, and a pot belly stove. The windows and doors overlook a beautiful garden of azaleas, birches, fuchsias and roses.
