Wooramel River Retreat

The well-appointed “Four Quarters” accommodation has been decorated to retain the feel and history of working on an outback station. The rooms have comfortable beds with linen, ensuites and air conditioning.

The eight-room complex has two communal fully-equipped kitchens with dining areas outside each room where guests can sit back and enjoy the spectacular views of the Wooramel River. Off the wide veranda is a grass area leading to a communal fire pit to stargaze at night.

The quarters are on 24-hour power with access to potable water and are a short 50 metre walk to the spa and communal fire pit areas. Pets are welcome if they are kept on a lead and remain outside of rooms.

Accommodation options include Single rooms, Queen rooms/Family rooms and a self-contained unit.

The Eco Cabin Tents have a queen-sized bed, quality linen and towels, solar lighting, bedside and luggage tables, camp chairs, a lantern, and their own private fire pit on the riverbank. Bathrooms are located within 40 metres. A single trundle bed in the tents can accommodate an extra two children, at an extra cost per bed or a swag to sleep outside under the stars.

There are seven erected tents with shade structures. Each tent includes three single beds with a mattress protector and pillow, solar lighting, and a small table and chairs out front. Linen is not included; it is essential that you bring your own sleeping bag or swag and pillowcase. A camp kitchen with barbecue and seating as well as a communal fire pit is shared between tents. Unique tank bathrooms are located within close walking distance.

This option is great for travellers who don’t wish to set up their own tents or campers for the night. This option is also ideal for schools and tour groups as there are also two two-man tents available for teachers/tour guides.

Please note that there is no power in the tents or in the campground.

Campers can set up their tent, camper trailer or caravan under the shade of the majestic gums trees on the Wooramel River or, if you are after something a little softer and greener then guests can opt for the grassed area close to all the facilities. Campsites can be booked in advance online.

All sites are unpowered, but own generators are allowed from 8.00 am – 5.00 pm in designated areas. Most campsites have fire pits and some with barbecue plates – firewood can be purchased. There is a basic camp kitchen with free gas barbecues and cooktop.

There are clean ablution blocks with flushing toilets and warm showers and lots of non-potable water available.
