Avon River Walk Trail and Janet Millet Lane

Natural Attractions

A great walk central to York Central Business District the whole family will enjoy.

Commencing at the historic swinging (suspension) bridge, this 1.5-kilometre walk trail meanders along the Avon River and features fantastic views towards Mount Bakewell.

Parking is located on Lowe Street at Avon Park, which is also the start of the walk trail. Toilets, barbecue facilities and playground areas are all within close proximity to the trail’s starting point.

York’s historic Holy Trinity Church is also located on the other side of the swinging bridge. Built in 1854, the church features stained-glass windows designed by Western Australian artist Robert Juniper and an Albert Pease pipe organ of which there are only four remaining in the world.
