Join them on a sailing adventure off Cable Beach to learn all about Broome’s iconic Australian South Sea Pearling Industry.
Broome Tours has partnered with Cygnet Bay Pearls to bring you Broome’s most unique pearling tour. Encapsulating the town’s history, indigenous foundations, and ecosystem sustainably.
Departing from Gantheaume Point, they board Ballena –their 42-foot sailing catamaran for a cruise like no other. As they cruise, their inhouse ‘pearl expert’ will take you through some of the fascinating aspects of pearling and show you a live pearl harvest. If the weather permits, they will cruise out to the pearling leases, otherwise they’ll hug closer to the shore keeping an eye out for wildlife including whales, dolphins, turtles and manta rays which all visit Cable Beach. Relax with canapes with access to a fully-serviced bar, delicious lunch and your chance to try the rare delicacy of pearl meat.
Finally they head back to shore to continue your pearling adventure at the Cygnet Bay Pearling Exhibition Space in Chinatown. They’ll get hands-on with some of the world’s finest pearls and learn all about what happens to a pearl post harvest, and what makes up the final ‘value’ of a pearl.
