Capture the Light Photographic Tours

Adventure and Outdoors Tours

Capture the Light Photographic Tours is a West Australian based company with many years of experience in running small group photographic tours to a variety of destinations throughout the state. Their tours are designed for photographers, by photographers who understand the need to take time at each location to get that Shot. The tours range from half a day to up to two weeks long to some of Western Australia’s lesser-known and more iconic destinations. Destinations include Rottnest Island (we are the only photography tour company that holds the concession to operate here), Wave Rock, Pinnacles and Wellington National Park. They also run wildflower tours in the region during Winter and Spring.

Each tour is led by formally trained professional fine art photographer, Anna-Mair Francis who is a highly regarded photographer having sold images to clients in many different countries. She is a highly acclaimed teacher having helped hundreds of clients improve their photography and develop a better understanding of their cameras.

All tours are inclusive of photographic input, fees, entry fees, most meals and accommodation (please see website for more information). All levels of photographer and makes of camera are welcomed.

Capture the Light Photographic Tours provides tours with a personal touch that will ensure your trip is an experience you will never forget with photos that you will treasure for a lifetime.

Christmas Island is a photographers dream! It is a small Australian territory in the Indian Ocean. Its’ diverse landscape offers so many photographic opportunities.

To quote Christmas Island tourism, “It’s hard to imagine a more visually tantalising place to photograph than Christmas Island. All around you are sights, colours, textures and landscapes you’ll want to capture and bring nature to life through your lens. From soft pastel sunrises to glorious sunsets, Christmas Island is bathed in ever-changing tropical light. Vivid colour is everywhere, from the crabs’ rich reds to the rainforest’s deep greens, to turquoise waters. Catch the robber crabs on film, zoom in on gentle orchids and twisting vines and train your lens skywards to capture the elegance and freedom of rare birds in flight.”

The small group tour will be packed with photographic opportunities and will take you all over the Island. Over two-thirds of the island is a National Park with areas of wetland that are of world significance.

An extension can be added to the tour to give you more time to relax or other photographic opportunities.

Your photographic adventure begins in incredible Karijini National Park with it’s deep red gorges cut by running water over the millennia and cool fern lined pools. We will see waterfalls, the ever differing hues of sedimentary layers of sand stone in the cliffs with contrasting ferns and trees. We have dark sky nights for Astro photography for most of our tour. We’ll head West through cattle country before continuing to the aqua blue of Ningaloo Reef offering you a wealth of seascape, landscape, wildlife, sunset and photographic opportunities.
Our time at Coral Bay will be more relaxed with one day which is less structured so that you can go if you wish, snorkelling, hire a quad, head off for a boat cruise or just chill on the beach for awhile.
Our tour costs include land transport; an expert local guide in Karijini; accommodation; most meals; tea/coffee/water; all entry fees plus photographic input from formally trained professional photographer, Anna-Mair Francis who has many years experience helping people to get to know their cameras and improve their photography.
If you are limited on time you can join us for part of the trip, just Karijini or just Ningaloo. Please enquire for details.
