This three to four hour tour is a bucket list item. Swim with wild Bottlenose Dolphins in the sheltered waters of Koombana Bay. See their social, inquisitive and feeding behaviours as well as mothers and calves.

You will enter the beautiful waters of Koombana Bay while patiently waiting for wild dolphins to interact with the group.

As the welfare of the dolphins is their priority, the experience will consider the activities and behaviour of the dolphins at all times and allow the dolphins to choose their level of interaction. For this reason there are no guarantees and conditions apply.

Once the dolphins are happy to interact, you will experience seeing the dolphins play and socialise within your group and with the other swimmers in the water. They often see the dolphins jumping the small waves and showing off.

The beauty of their tours is that the dolphins are not trained in any way so their interactions are genuine and they choose how long they want to visit with them. Juvenile dolphins are seen on most tours and are often most playful around the swim group.

The Dolphin Discovery Centre’s Dolphin Eco Cruise is for one and a half hours within Koombana Bay. Their vessel provides an excellent viewing platform designed to get you as close as possible to the dolphins without getting your feet wet.

The team will introduce you to the local Bottlenose Dolphins as they interact in their natural environment. Many of the Dolphins seen on the cruise call Koombana Bay their home. They can be seen frolicking, playing, sleeping and feeding during the cruise. The informative commentary from the skipper of the boat will also keep you updated throughout the cruise.

They run the tours every day at noon, and they add additional times in peak season.

Please note that some times may change due to weather or numbers, please always ring and check if a later Eco Cruise is available.
