South Coast Crafty Brewers, Denmark, Western Australia

Take in the views of farming hinterland on the way to Boston Brewery in Denmark, recently claiming WA’s Best Family Dining Award at the 2017 Australian Hotel Association’s awards and earlier that year Silver and Bronze at the Australian International Beer awards. Indulge in a beer paddle, ginger beer or Willoughby Wine tastings. Choose lunch from the delicious variety on the menu or try a wood fired pizza.

Then on to Wilsons Brewery, Albany’s locally owned and operated five barrel craft brewery, going from strength to strength, recently winning top honours at the WA Beer Battle 2017 as the “West Coast Summer Beer of the Year”. Try a paddle of these beers all made by sourcing local and Australian produce to create an alternative to mass produced commercial beer.

Last but not least, a scenic drive around Princess Royal Harbour for a tour and tastings at Limeburners, Albany’s multi award winning distillery, single-handedly putting WA up there with the great whisky making regions of the world.

Then on to Denmark’s recently opened Poornarti Art Workshop & Gallery, showcasing local Noongar art, craft and artefacts. A great extension to Joey Williams and partner, Catherine Mercers’ award winning Poornarti Aboriginal Tours.

Tempt your taste buds at the Lakehouse Denmark multi award winning business, inducted into the Hall of Fame for Excellence in Food Tourism at the Perth Airport 2017 WA Tourism Awards. Indulge in their celebrated vineyard platters enjoying the views to the lake and gardens.

Winding our way through the back roads next to the stunning coastline of Williams Bay with the impressive Elephant Rocks and Greens Pool.

Finally, to Albany’s Sandalwood Factory, the largest sandalwood distillery in the world, producing pure sandalwood oil used by many of the world’s luxury perfume brands. Learn about the history of Sandalwood in WA, how the wood is processed and the product range is made on site.
