Hamersley Drive Heritage Trail Scenic Drive

Natural Attractions

The Hamersley Drive Heritage Trail Scenic Drive offers a picturesque tour of the Fitzgerald River National Park and surrounding towns. Discover the dramatic coastline and enjoy the panoramic views offered at several lookouts along the way.

Keep an eye out for the Southern Right whales gliding through the ocean. Explore the river by canoe or fish from the shoreline. Bird watchers will appreciate the chance to observe over 200 species of birds that live in the national park

Stop for lunch at a designated picnic site before continuing on this spectacular scenic drive. Allow a full day to complete the drive at a comfortable pace. If time permits, explore the park further by camping overnight at one of the many campsites.

The scenic drive commences at Ravensthorpe, five hours southeast of Perth. A helpful guide map can be collected from the town’s visitor centre/museum. Whilst in Ravensthorpe explore the farming town on foot along the two-hour Cattlin Creek Heritage Trail.

Hopetoun is the gateway for direct access to the Fitzgerald River National Park. Holiday-makers return each year to enjoy the relaxed pace of Hopetoun, the pristine beaches, the picturesque scenery and the abundance of water activities.
