Youth Explorer Voyages are open to anyone aged between 14 and 25 and allow young people to experience a unique, challenging and inspirational ocean adventure. The voyages aim to increase self-awareness, develop communication, teamwork and leadership skills and create a strong sense of community in a fun and exciting environment.

Leeuwin II is a working ship and during the voyage all participants will get involved in most aspects of ship operations, from taking the helm and steering the ship to climbing the masts, working aloft and standing watch while sailing through the night. The Leeuwin operates under the principle of ‘challenge by choice’. The level of the challenge is up to each participant and they know from experience that the more a participant is willing to challenge themselves, the more they will get out of it!

No previous sailing experience is required: just willingness for adventure and being ready to have the time of your life!

People aged 14 to 25 who need assistance to cover part of the voyage fare are eligible to apply for scholarships offered through the foundation. Please call them for more information.
