Lesueur Walk Trail is located in the Lesueur National Park, approximately 30 kilometres from Jurien Bay, a 3 hour drive north of Perth, Western Australia. This moderate Top Trail climbs up Mount Lesueur, to the spectacular views over the surrounding national park, agriculture and out to sea at the top.
After driving half of the Lesueur Scenic Drive, you arrive at Drumonds day use area at the foot of the Gairdner Range. There is a trailhead including interpretive signs explaining the biodiversity and natural heritage values of the region.
The first 250 metres of the trail leads to the Wilson lookout and is wide and bituminized, suitable for prams and wheelchairs. The eight kilometre (return) Lesueur Trail is a sandy trail that leads towards the flat top hill (messa). The spectacular view shows the surrounding bushland, farmland and Indian Ocean in the distance.
This is a walk for those who like plants and flowers along with the added bonus of an interesting land formation and views. This moderate walk can be achieved in approximately half a day and requires a degree of fitness. Bring your own food, water, sun cream and take away your rubbish.
