The ocean has been pivotal in the lives of the Bardi people for many thousands of years as both a source of food and spiritual significance. Their connection to the ocean has shaped the Bardi culture on many levels including folklore, recreation, diet and economic activity. Using tidal currents, take a leisurely paddle through the shallow waters and pristine reefs of Lombadina. Glide along the surface of the water and enjoy the views of the turtles, fish and rays as they swim past or go snorkelling for a more intimate experience with these marine creatures.
It’s a fun and active way to enjoy the coastal beauty of the area.

Take a short drive to Djugarargyn and your guide will lead you through the bush. The sounds of nature will come alive for you as the secrets of the bush are revealed. Guided bushwalks follow paths that meander through picturesque and peaceful bush lands of Djugarargyn and its surrounding areas, interpreting the local indigenous plants and their traditional uses.

The Ancient Footprints tour begins with a leisurely walk around the idyllic Lombadina community. Your guide will explain the history of Lombadina Mission and show you the historical church, bakery and craft shop. You will learn all about the culture and lifestyle of the local people. Next the tour will head off over the sand dunes in the four wheel drive tour vehicle to the site of the ancient footprints. There will also be time for you to enjoy a swim in the crystal clear waters of Lombadina’s beautiful beach before returning to the community.

Begin this unique day with a guided tour of the Lombadina community and a visit to the ancient footprints. You will then travel in their four wheel drive vehicle to Cape Leveque, Swan Point and One Arm Point, where you will visit the community and trochus hatchery. During the tour, your guide will explain the history, culture and lifestyle of the local people. Morning tea is provided, and they will of course make time for a swim in one of the Dampier Peninsula’s beautiful beaches. Morning tea is provided and guests will need to buy lunch at Kooljaman or Cygnet Bay.

The charter boat, GBS, is licensed to carry five passengers. The waters around Lombadina are full of life and your local guides will ensure you get to make the most of it! While you are hauling in your big catch you might see turtles, dolphins or stingrays. Morning tea is provided, plus lunch on the full day charter. Fishing gear and snacks provided.
