Manjimup Heritage Park

Galleries, Museums and Collections

The Manjimup Heritage Park, centrally located within the Manjimup town-site, highlights the region’s working life and cultural heritage.

Set on 12 hectares of natural landscaped and grassed picnic areas are the State Timber Museum, Age of Steam Museum, historical hamlet with period buildings and exhibits, and a full-size replica fire lookout tower.

The Snorting Liz and the Saw Pit and rail relics provide a wonderful insight into the technology and techniques of days past, while a timber museum filled with memorabilia will captivate all visitors.

In addition to the many historical static displays relating to the early era of timber and steam, the park also hosts the Manjimup Woodturners Association, Manjimup Historical Society and the Manjimup Community Garden.

The Manjimup Timber and Heritage Park provides an experience in discovering the area’s rich and colourful history with an insight into how the Lower South West region was developed by the early pioneers of major industries.

Surrounded by a stand of significant trees found within the region, the Manjimup Timber and Heritage Park will take you on a journey to a time past when a special group of people worked to forge a prosperous future for the Manjimup district.
