Enjoy the drive through scenic farmlands east of Dongara as you explore just some of the many attractions in the North Midlands area.

We’ll make a stop at one of the Midwest’s farming hubs, Mingenew, before continuing on to Three Springs’ Talc Mine Lookout and then onto Carnamah.

With Carnamah boasting a vibrant arts and agricultural scene, there are number of spots that we will visit. We’ll take a look inside the Old Exchange, the exhibition of the latest artist in residence at the old Bank Gallery and Carnamah’s historical museum, as well as a visit a private collection of tractors at the Tractor Museum. Our day will end at Macpherson Homestead, the first of it’s kind on the region. Here you will get a glimpse of farm life in years gone by with a guided tour, followed by a picnic lunch catered by Carnamah’s 5-star cafe, ‘One L of a Good Feed’.

This day trip departs from Dongara transporting you in air conditioned comfort to Jurien Bay for an ever popular Sea Lion Tour with Turquoise Safaris. These unique and playful creatures will jump and somersault out of the water can entertain you for hours. Hop in for a snorkel and in-water interaction or stay on the boat and watch the show. Following the tour you will be taken to a local restaurant to enjoy lunch before making the return journey to Dongara.

**Please Note for the Sea Lion Safari:
Go Pro cameras are available for hire – $50 per person.
Light snacks and refreshments are provided on the Sea Lion Safaris along with all snorkel equipment including custom made wetsuits.

For Lunch – each ticket includes the purchase of food and beverages up to the value of $30. You are welcome to pay any additional expense above this amount if you would like.
For transfers – return transport from Dongara is in air conditioned comfort. Four anchor points are available, subject to availability for car seats, if required. Car seats not supplied.

This tour combines a short walk (1.5km leisurely stroll) around Dongara’s main town centre to see iconic sites and learn about the fascinating history, continuing on by bus to visit some key spots around the twin-towns of Dongara Port Denison.

This tour ends at Southerly’s Bar & Restaurant where you will get to enjoy a platter of local produce with their iconic ‘Taste of Irwin’ share plates.

Get up close with textile artists, professional painters and drawers and next level creatives. Depart from Dongara and enjoy the drive through the picturesque Chapman Valley to Burnt Barrel. Famous for its low and slow smoked Kansas-City Style barbecue, coupled with cold beers brewed onsite.

While at Burnt Barrel you will get to enjoy a tasting board, exclusive to tour groups, of specialty meats carefully paired with a paddle of their home-brewed beers.

This full day tour in the heart of Wildflower Country explores the Coalseam Conservation Park as well as a number of sites in the surrounding areas to the north. With stops at Canna, Pindar and Mullewa too, you will be guaranteed to see wreath flowers, a variety of orchids, everlastings and more!

Departing from Dongara with pick-ups in Mingenew, this tour takes you on an adventure into the Golden Outback. The main attraction being Mellenbye Station Stay where there is an abundance of things to discover and explore. Disconnect from the hustle and bustle and reconnect with the expanse of land, interact with the local flora, fauna, the station pets as well as admire the incredible night skies away from the city lights.

Mellenbye Station is not only home to Drought Master Cattle, the wonderful host Shelly is an avid collector of memorabilia from times gone by and provider of fun. Her collection includes a 1926 Fire Truck, one of the three original Fremantle Trams, a Bucking Bull (which guests can ride!) and a monster truck which flies down the station’s airstrip at high speeds!

Back by popular demand, this exclusive tour takes the best of our full day wildflower tours and combines it with photography lessons by professional wildflower photographer, Erinna Ford, from The Petal Press.

Erinna has been a professional photographer for more than 15 years, including teaching photography and publishing a beginners handbook.

Growing up in WA, she’s always loved our wildflowers and is in awe of the diversity of flora in the Midwest. She is particularly looking forward to this tour and the opportunity to share her photography knowledge with you, including her top tips for getting great photos no matter your camera or skill level.

There will be plenty of opportunities to ask lots of questions and take lots of photos, all while having a fun and relaxing day in wildflower country!

Visit this authentic replica of Leane’s Trench, a captured Turkish trench taken by the 11th Battalion in Gallipoli in 1915.

Before entering the trench you will be shown footage detailing the significance of the trench in WWI. You will then be guided through the 120m long trench to participate in a reenactment of what it was like to be at war during this time. Complete with sound systems, actors and all the paraphernalia of war makes this experience as real as possible, giving you a glimpse of life on the frontline.

Following the trench experience you will enjoy a barbeque dinner hosted by the men and women of the 11th Battalion and the Leane’s Trench project in order to learn more about this significant piece of history and those behind the project.

This half day experience gives you the chance to blast through the Geraldton waters on a Jetski to view the coastline from a different angle. There is a high chance of seeing sea lions and on the odd occasion dolphins. An hour of Stand Up Paddle Boarding is also included in this package as a way to enjoy the beautiful foreshore at a different pace.

After your time in the water you will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before making the return journey to Dongara.

Things to note:
The water based activities will be provided by Ultimate Watersports. The Jet ski experience is limited to groups of 5 people at a time. Each ticket is sold on a twin share basis with the fifth person driving a jet ski with the guide as passenger. While one group (5 people maximum) is enjoying the jet ski experience, the other half of the group will have access to the SUPs. Groups will then swap to enjoy the alternate water sport activity.
