One Mile Jetty

Historical Sites and Heritage Locations

PLEASE NOTE: The Jetty is currently closed for renovations until further notice.

One Mile Jetty in Carnarvon is the longest jetty in the north west of the state. It is a great spot for fishing for Mulloway and Tailor, where you can enjoy fishing in the deep water without the need for a boat! Walk along its 1,493 metre length and then catch the Coffee Pot train back. Enjoy a magnificent sunset over the water and soak up the history of this unique structure.

The Jetty was built in 1897 to service shipping. Everything and everyone came and went on the ships for 60 years until the road south was sealed. Animal driven wagons were used at first and then steam and diesel powered trains pulled wagons that were used to transport the goods and people.

Carnarvon is a 10 hour drive north of Perth.
