Point Walter

National Parks and Reserves

Point Walter, south of Perth, is where the locals go on weekends for riverside picnics, swimming and fishing.

This scenic reserve boasts sweeping views of the Swan River and is the perfect place for a barbecue with friends and family. There are plenty of shady trees, public barbecue facilities, a café, kiosk, jetty and boat ramps.

The river at Point Walter offers excellent family swimming and is often used for dive training courses. There’s also a public golf course just nearby. Also not far from Point Walter is the Blackwall Reach Reserve, a picturesque area of natural bush ideal for cyclists and walkers.

Point Walter is located in the suburb of Bicton about a 15 minute drive from the centre of Perth. The reserve is serviced by public transport on Transperth buses.
