PONANT is set to take luxury expeditions at sea to another level in 2023 with the launch of their Kimberley voyage. Le Ponant will make her maiden season in the Asia Pacific region in April, bringing the French operator’s revered sailing expeditions to the southern hemisphere. True to form, Ponant will push the boundaries of expedition travel with new bespoke itineraries showcasing the immense beauty of the Kimberley onboard a three-masted sailing yacht. Led by world-renowned expedition and destination experts, guests will be able to experience the breathtaking Western Australian landscape as well as shore landings on state-of-the-art Zodiac boats.

Set sail for the wild and grandiose landscapes of the Kimberley from Broome to Darwin on this exciting 10 night expedition voyage.

In one of the most picturesque parts of the region, the Hunter River, see wild mangrove forests where saltwater crocodiles live along with many species of birds.

The highpoint of this cruise will undoubtedly be the discovery of the King George River and the majestic Twin Falls, the highest single drop waterfall in Western Australia plus the seemingly gravity defying Horizontal Falls.

You will also visit Collier Bay, where you will be able to admire a spectacular example of the impact of the tides cascading in mini-waterfalls as the entire Montgomery reef appears to rise from the turquoise-blue waters of the bay.

Accompanied by your expert Expedition team, your ship will take you along one of the most spectacular coasts in the entire region.

Meet some of the local Aboriginal communities and marvel at the ancient rock paintings throughout the journey.

Discover the Rowley Shoals, located 260 kilometres west of Broome in the Timor Sea, regarded as one of the world’s most spectacular diving and snorkelling locations. The three coral atolls of Mermaid, Clerke and Imperieuse reefs rise, near vertical, from the surrounding crystal clear waters on the edge of the continental shelf. Each atoll is approximately 80 to 90 square kilometres in size and contain shallow lagoons inhabited by a diverse array of corals and abundant marine life, ideal for exploration by snorkelers and SCUBA divers.
