Mount Augustus is the world’s largest rock – more than twice the size of Uluru. The flight out crosses the magnificent Kennedy Ranges as well as rugged cattle station country.
Fly right round the rock which towers 1,180 meters above the surrounding landscape, then land at nearby Mt Augustus station (or Cobra). Ground tour around the rock to see Aboriginal carvings is optional and is organised with a third party operator and not supplied by Shark Bay Aviation. The ground tour can be made at the commencement of your booking.

This is a 20 minute flight. This flight takes you over the Denham township and across Francois Peron National Park and Big Lagoon. Then it is on to Peron Homestead where the famous hot tub and shade cloth covered billy breeding cages of the Project Eden can be seen.Family Friendly

This flight crosses Freycinet Reach to the fascinating patchwork of salt ponds at Useless Loop. It then crosses the sandy finger of Bellefin Prong and out over the rugged Zuytdorp Cliffs. Following the cliffs northward to Australia’s most westerly landfall at Steep Point through the waters of South Passage.
The flight crosses part of Dirk Hartog Island and continues over shallow waters and sandbars adding to the astonishing range of blue and green hues of the area before returning to Denham and Shark Bay airport.

Scenic Flight 3: “The Sun Setter” takes passengers to the very tip of Francois Peron National Park as cliffs glow red and orange in the late afternoon light and as the sun sinks over the sandy dunes of Dirk Hartog Island.
Although traditionally scheduled in the late afternoon, if preferred, this scenic flight can be taken any time.
On this flight there are many opportunities to spot rays, sharks, turtles, dolphins as well as other marine species in the crystal clear waters.
Mangroves and fingers of sand spits mark your arrival at Guichenault Point. From there you continue via Monkey Mia and across a fascinating array of salt lakes which dot the landscape before returning home to Denham in the early evening.Family Friendly
Scenic Flight 4: “The Extra” is an extension of Flight 2. There are ample opportunities to see sharks, rays and turtles, perhaps even whales in season as well as the shy elusive dugongs.
This flight crosses Freycinet Reach to the fascinating patchwork of salt ponds at Useless Loop, then across the sandy finger of Bellefin Prong and out over the rugged Zuytdorp Cliffs. Following the cliffs northward to Australia’s most westerly landfall at Steep Point, which is separated from historic Dirk Hartog Island by the waters of South Passage.
The flight takes you north along the island where you will see the Eco Lodge and beautiful clear, astonishing range of blue and green waters on the way back to Denham and Shark Bay airport.Family Friendly
Scenic Flight 5: “Magic” is a 90 minutes flight. This flight takes you out past the township of Denham, crosses Freycinet Reach to Useless Loop. As you continue in a north westerly direction you will see the stunning Zuytdorp Cliffs and Steep Point which is the most westerly point of mainland Australia. Further on, fly over Dirk Hartog Island and observe turquoise coloured estuaries and pink lakes. Search the shallow waters and amongst the seagrass beds for marine life that may include turtles, dolphins, dugongs, sharks or manta rays. The flight continues past Surf Point and the western coast of Dirk Hartog Island National Park to historic Cape Inscription, along famous Turtle Bay and to the tip of Francois Peron National Park.
This flight path allows an excellent opportunity to spot humpback whales and whale sharks in season before crossing to Cape Peron North and Skipjack Point, another area noted for its marine life. From there, you will cross Francois Peron National Park to the famous Big Lagoon and Cape Lesueur. The flight then deviates over Peron homestead before returning to Shark Bay Airport.

Scenic Flight 6: “Thriller” a 90 minutes flight. This flight takes you past Denham, then south past Ocean Park and the popular lookout of Eagle Bluff where you may see rays, turtles, sharks and the elusive dugongs.
The flight tracks south through the magnificent coast line of Freycinet Harbour, to the rugged Zuytdorp Cliffs then tracking over the coral reefs of south passage and Dirk Hartog Island. On the flight back to Shark Bay airport you will see the unfolding of one of nature’s wonders – an astonishing spectacle of crystal clear blue and green waters.Family Friendly
Scenic Flight 7: “Tranquility” a 90 minute flight takes you across Peron National Park, the Monkey Mia Nature Reserve and Faure Island then on to Hamelin Pool. Keep an eye out for the opportunity to spot dugongs, rays, turtles and sharks while observing the sea grass pans and amazing nature’s patterns in the marine panorama.
From Hamelin Pool the flight heads to the southern end of Freycinet Reach then on to Useless Loop Salt Mine. On the way back to Shark Bay you will observe the Denham township. This flight really allows you to appreciate the tranquility of Shark Bay and is a great opportunity to take some stunning photographs.
