Stockyard Gully Caves

National Parks and Reserves

Stockyard Gully National Park is home to a fascinating group of limestone caves that lead to an underwater river system. The largest cave is an impressive sight. Walk through the 300 metre long cave which is covered by a sandy floor. The more adventurous will enjoy the challenge of the smaller caves which require a little more manoeuvring to get through.

Relax and enjoy a picnic amongst the trees, relishing in the peace and tranquillity of the surroundings. Keep an eye out for the variety of bird life and fauna that live here.

Ensure you bring plenty of water as there is no fresh water available. A four wheel drive vehicle is also necessary to reach the cave car-parks (approximately five kilometres of four wheel drive only road). All wheel drive vehicles are not appropriate due to height restrictions of limestone rock road base and soft sand driving.

Stockyard Gully National Park is three hours northeast of Perth, and a short drive from Coorow, Jurien Bay or Green Head.

Tourists are advised to check for alerts and road/park closures before commencing their travel on www.emergency.wa.gov.au and https://alerts.dbca.wa.gov.au
