Their stories have reached thirteen countries in five continents and won awards for their theatre, governance and partnerships.

Yirra Yaakin means “Stand Tall” in Noongar language. They have been producing and presenting an annual program of new Indigenous theatre whilst maintaining a strong focus on education and youth programs since it’s inception. More than fifteen original youth focused productions have been developed in that time, undertaking scores of residencies and workshops across Western Australia.

The company is committed to producing and presenting a mixture of contemporary and classic Indigenous theatre, balanced with their existing community service and education programs.

Key features includes attending a contemporary Aborginal production (Theatre and Dance), learning about Aborginal history and culture and observe traditional Aborginal dance.
