Andrea Adamson Tiger – Seven Sisters Dreaming

Exhibition and Shows

16 Nov 2018 to 22 Dec 2018

Japingka Gallery proudly presents the colourful paintings by Aborigianl Artist: Andrea Adamson.

Andrea Adamson is a Pitjantjatjara artist, born at Amata community on the APY Lands in 1973. She was encouraged to paint by her father and has her well-respected aunt Rini Tiger as an artistic elder in her family.

Andrea paints stories associated with the Seven Sisters songline, a massive Dreaming track that crosses her country into many adjacent territories. Andrea’s paintings tell the story of the Seven Sisters as they move from east to west on their journey. Her richly-coloured paintings depict the rocky outcrops and the sandhills and rockholes created by the Seven Sisters. The Ancestors are represented in the sky by the Pleiades star constellation which emerges from the horizon every night to make the epic journey.
