Coogee Live which will be held at Coogee Beach is a jam-packed family-friendly festival that brings the community together creating a sense of belonging through joyful entertainment, interactive experiences and a chance to learn new things.
The LiveLighter Omeo Hub is inspired by the area’s nautical history where winding pathways lead to hidden surprises such as Gumnut Hollow reading nook.
Bindi Bindi Dreaming and Tucker Bush (presented by Alcoa) will share their rich Aboriginal culture with some bush tucker and bush medicine knowledge, and learn the simple art of binding and wrapping with Nyoongar woman Sharyn Egan.
The Ocean Kitchen Garden is all about food and sustainability including cooking demonstrations with dumpling master Brendan Pang, judging of the Intergenerational Great Cake Bake Off, and Josh Byrne teaches how to green streetscapes, support biodiversity, urban cooling and food production.
The LiveLighter Community Hub includes a ‘touch and learn’ wildlife space presented by Fremantle Ports and there’s camel rides with Calamunnda Camels.
Sway to soulful music by Odette Mercy and Her Soul Atomics and get down and funky to live big band music at the Buster Vogt’s Good Vibes Concert with Utopian Funk, and Little Pedro whose setlist including hits from The Specials, Madness, The Beat, The Jam, Elvis Costello and more.
At the Jetty Sessions, mermaids visit Coogee’s shore and there’ll be fishing workshops.
