Boorna Waanginy – Perth Festival

Community Event

8 Feb 2019 to 11 Feb 2019

The extraordinary hit of Perth Festival 2017, Boorna Waanginy, is back to transform Perth’s Kings Park into a nocturnal wonderland over four spectacular nights. In this epic work Noongar culture, science, cutting edge technology and breathtaking artistry come together to celebrate and explore the interconnectedness of all life and the fragile beauty of South Western Australia’s landscape.

Huge projectors transform the trees and avenues of Kings Park into an ever moving canvas, where trees and flowers bloom, flocks of birds descend, wetlands fill, bush fires rage and the stories of the formation of Western Australia’s unique landscape unfurl all around you.

Be part of a river of light, story and humanity, as it winds its way along a 1.5 kilometre journey designed to transform the way we see our landscape and to inspire us to become part of a movement that guarantees its future for all the species who call it home.

Bring the family along for an unmissable free Festival experience that is truly awe inspiring.

This event is part of Perth Festival which runs from 8 February to 3 March 2019. It’s one of Western Australia’s premier cultural events and is a feast of joyous and cutting-edge performances.
