Polly Ngale & Kathleen Ngale – Bush Plum Dreaming

Exhibition and Shows

28 May 2020 to 25 Jun 2020

A stunning collection of shimmering paintings of the Bush Plum Dreaming story gives a sense of the importance of Polly and Kathleen Ngale’s country, Ahalpere, the resources and cultural ceremonies that underpin life there. Polly Ngale and sister Kathleen Ngale are amongst the most senior custodians on Utopia homelands.

In their work on the Anwekety Bush Plum Dreaming paintings, the artists depict the bright yellow seeds of the plant and colours associated with the plant and the seasonal colours of the land as the fruit ripens. The painting becomes an image of abundance and fertility of the land and a homage to the tradition of stewardship of Country.

These exhibitions are open online, so you can view them every day.

The Gallery is currently fully operational for online orders and open for limited hours each day with social and health protocols in place.
