5 Dec 2021 Annual Event
The annual St Barbara’s Festival has become an integral part of the Goldfields events calendar. The festival celebrates mining in the region and the local community.
The Miners Memorial Service is held in the square to honour the men and women who have lost their lives servicing the mining industry over the past century.
Undoubtedly the showcase of the St Barbara’s Festival, the parade is a fun-filled extravaganza for the whole family! Thousands of people gather for the parade. This extravaganza showcases the community. Companies, not for profits, schools, prospectors, animals and community groups march down historical Hannan Street, celebrating and embracing the year that was. From people on foot through to a CAT 793 Haul truck ( standing 6 metres tall, 8 metres wide and 13 metres long). There is something for all ages to see!
Along with mining equipment, you can expect to see mines rescue demonstrations.
See their website for their festival programme.
