24 Sep 2022 to 9 Oct 2022 Annual Event
The York Festival is one of the Wheatbelt’s major festival events, offering a fabulous weekend of family-friendly entertainment full of art, music, fun and laughter. The festival is held during Djilba and Kambarang – the first and second spring of the Noongar six seasons.
Thousands of visitors are drawn to Western Australia’s oldest inland town in springtime when the wildflowers and canola are in full bloom. This year sees the long-awaited return of the York Jazz Festival and the launch of a Writer’s Program curated by William Yeoman and a program of rare and endangered crafts, featuring craft makers from around Western Australia.
From theatre to comedy, circus, art, convict walks and explorations of some of York’s fabulous heritage buildings and of course Jazz! Join them for a two week program that celebrates their location in the West Australian Wheatbelt.
The historic town of York is an easy 1.5 hour drive east of Perth, off Great Southern Highway.
Volunteers are always welcome and needed!
